LLIF // FLOW

IMG_9756.jpeg

Flow (Llif in Welsh language) is a film I made with Sion Marshall-Waters (camera), AcouChristo (sound) and Rufus Mufasa (poetry) in 2020-21. It follows my artistic practice in response to my experiences of childloss. Filming has taken place in Wales, on the seashore, by the river and underwater. It is made in honour of all those who have experienced the trauma of losing a child and the dream of becoming a parent.

There is precious beauty that flows alongside deep loss.

The trailer https://youtu.be/p_5IbOjszuo was released on the eve of Samhain (31 October 2020), to honour the deceased.

The full length film https://youtu.be/NlSwvxKM8as was released at Beltane (1 May 2021), marking the growing daylight and fecundity of the land.

Llif|Flow was part of the first ever #ecosinema programme of the WOW film festival in September 2021, the theme: Reflecting on Water. My film was one of three from Wales, joining films from the Amazon, Lebanon and Iceland.

This project was made possible by the support of Arts Council of Wales.
